To encourage civic duty, you may serve on jury duty and receive pay from Avista for the time served based upon your scheduled work hours.
- You will be expected to work your regular duties for days or partial days while not on duty.
For example: A part-time employee scheduled to work 20 hours per week, would receive 20 hours of "jury duty" pay as long as they were serving during their regular scheduled work hours. - Employees are NOT allowed to receive more pay than their scheduled work hours.
That means if you normally work 4 hours per day, but serve 8 hours on the jury, you will receive 4 hours of "jury duty" pay from the company. - Employees are not required to "pay back" the company any daily stipend allowance provided by the court.
*Temporary employees are not eligible for this benefit.
